3 + 1 = 4
I am excited to officially announce that I will be having my second child January/February 2012. Obviously, I have known for some time but because of everything going on and all of life’s changes I’ve been going through I haven’t been as vocal with this pregnancy. We do not know what we are having, so I will be excited to let you all know when the little one arrives.
Wren is very excited about a new brother or sister (more excited about a sister) and looking forward to moving into a new room. Regardless, of the new baby it feels like it is time to update Wren’s room. At two years old she has a very distinct little personality and the gender-neutral nursery scheme that we planned no longer fits her. As I plan her new room there are a couple of things that I have finalized and others that I am gathering ideas around.
Things I have decided on:
- Paint for the walls: sunny orange or jade green
- Window treatments: bright pink window panels from Pottery Barn
- Comforter: twin quilt from Land of Nod
Things I am considering:
I would like to create a reading nook for Wren since one of her absolute most favorite things to do is read. In order to do this I would like to make a few things and buy some others.
- Bookshelf: Here is one from Ikea that is very affordable.
Inspiration
Whenever I start a new project like this I like looking at Pinterest for inspiration. Here are some of the photos I am using for inspiration.

Yay! Congrats, Jess! Looks like you have some great ideas for Wren’s new room. I love aqua and white for a girl’s room… it’s feminine without being too girly. Happy decorating!
