As I sit on my red couch painting my fingernails a fantastic smokey gray I can’t help but think about what a wonderful color gray can be in a home. Sometimes people are hesitant to use gray in their homes because they think it will be too heavy or moody. When in actuality, gray is a great neutral color, a soothing color that’s perfect for the home. Grays can be used on their own in different shades or as a clean backdrop for a pop of color. My current obsession is navy and marigold with gray or coral/red and gray.
Feelings of gray: moody, tranquility, neutrality, calming, stability, independence, non-commitment.
Rooms appropriate for gray: bedrooms, kitchens, living rooms, bathrooms, basically any room since gray is such a neutral color.

I am OBSESSED with gray and yellow. I would love to re-do my bedroom in it. Gray is a great neutral, and a nice alternative to the more traditional beige.
